1969 FIAT 850 Coupe

That's me at the wheel of my Coupe at the 1999 Monterey Fiat Festival Auto-X in August. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts. I bought the car as a basket case in Berkeley with every intention of restoring it to it's original glory, but after some investigation I found some terminal rust (SURPRISE!). At that point the focus of my restoration was purely mechanical and functional. I have since acquired a replacement chassis and will begin body and paint work this summer. When that's complete I'll transfer the mechanicals from the rusty Coupe to the new chassis.

"Believe it or not I bought this car on Saturday 040900 strictly for the parts.  But I've since decided that it looks too cool and runs too good to throw away.  The car is as rusty as my Coupe but you'd never know it from 10 feet away.  So now it's my daily driver until it blows up or rusts away.  After that it'll get promptly parted out to provide the parts for my '67. "

That's what I said then, and today 082300 it's blown up.   Rats.  For the full story and this little car's future, click here:

1967 FIAT 850 Spider

I hope to soon have some pictures of my '67 project car. The deal I was working on for a 'perfect' '67 Spider fell through, so it looks like I'll be slowly restoring mine. In the meantime, here's a quick page on a popular topic.
